The Bellevue Club is committed to holistic health, supporting wellness on all levels: physical, mental, emotional and social. In that effort, the Club is promoting a series of events, specials and opportunities for members to practice wellness in new and interesting ways.
In July, the Holistic Health Series will focus on Community Engagement, encouraging members to get up, get out and get involved with their community.
While research regarding the benefits of community engagement varies, several key benefits are often commonly identified in regard to community building and wellness: the corner stones of the Bellevue Club’s mission.
Community engagement has been linked to creating networks and connections between members, an increase in trust in the overall community and to improve member’s skills and creativity when it comes to problem solving.

Over the last 14 years, the annual MXD Championship tournament has raised nearly $400,000 for the community. This year, the tournament’s proceeds will be donated to Alexander’s Hope. The local, nonpartisan, nonprofit organization aims to spread awareness of organ donation, as well as alleviate misconceptions related to organ donation. Visit mxdchampionships.com for more information.
If you’re looking for other ways to get involved, the Club is partnering with Life Spring for the second annual Snack Drive supporting the 3,700 children living in poverty in Bellevue. Members are encouraged to support the cause by donating snacks to the Athletic Services Desk between July 1-30. All snacks must be nut-free, non-perishable and individually packaged.
On July 31, we invite you and your family to join the Life Spring efforts and help pack the snack bags and write inspirational notes for the children benefitting.
Also, don’t forget to join us for the Four on the Fourth Dog Walk & Jog at 9 a.m. in Ashwood Park, Bellevue Club members get $5 off registration at bellevuedowntown.com with the code DOGJOG2018.
